I'll be honest, not all mentors are always the best at providing feedback (some are truly amazing at it at the same time though!) It's great that you have had someone look over applications, but I would be cautious to assume just because someone else has checked it that it still hits either the...
It will depend on what intakes the firm is recruiting for in this cycle. If they are advertising 2024 TC opportunities, then VS'ers can be considered for them. If its 2025, its most likely going to be those opportunities instead.
If you are offered a 2025 TC, sometimes firms operate waiting...
Also if you want to discuss the complicated academics, please feel free to PM me.
On the face of it, I suspect this may be more about how you are writing applications more than your academics though. This could be how you are describing your motivations or more of the written style. That's an...
@AvniD has provided some great advice above.
Here is a list of firms recruiting for 2024 with deadlines still coming up:

Yes, you could definitely do that. I don’t think any firm wants you to study over two years, it’s just how it had to play out when the courses were much more structured under the old qualification system.
My view is that you probably need to sit it out a little more. Four weeks in July/August is no time at all in a law firm. They probably haven't even had time to have a meeting about it yet, in all honesty, especially if the relevant people who need to discuss the matter are on annual leave...
I don't think it automatically makes you more appealing - you could be an appealing candidate anyway without it.
However, it can show a commitment to a legal career at the same time.
It will depend on the firm as to whether your course gets funded if you have already started it of your own...
There is no set answer to this, unfortunately. How one firm assesses their exercise will be very different to the next firm.
What I would say though, is that it's common for these exercises to be designed in a way that the average good candidate won't pick up all the points - probably because...
Here is a list that includes the number of applications that law firms receive: Application and selection criteria - Chambers Student Guide
However, I'd take this with a large pinch of salt. Application numbers don't really tell how competitive an application process is - it doesn't really tell...
They just want to know your thoughts on the role first. They won’t put you forward until you have basically said you are interested. Saying you are interested doesn’t mean you are put forward for the role though - that very much depends on the candidate pool the agency have. In all honesty, they...
If they do not require you to do a specific course that has a defined location, this is likely to not be an issue. It is only if the firm has a preferred supplier and/or bespoke course that they may require you to study in the location that course is run from.
You may find any maintenance grant...
With vacation scheme season over for 2021-22, I will be locking this thread. Please can all future discussions on vacation schemes be discussed in the 2022-23 thread going forward!
Unlikely - it’s just too much hard work/time consuming to do this. The only way it would be really possible is if their events management tool and ATS were combined (and that’s only their events, not other firms’)
I don’t think such comparisons are necessarily helpful. They are two very different exam processes.
The likes of BPP and UoL have been running their exams for years/decades, and usually on their own properties. It’s a handful of locations each year they have to manage even when they are...
