Hey! Last year I applied to them and got a AC for the SVS they replied back to me to offer an AC around late January. So I wouldn’t keep your hopes down. When I checked they were holding ACs till late Feb/early March.
@Jessica Booker if a partner in an interview asks you to go through a deal the firm recently did , what structure would you recommend? Do I talk about why the client did the acquisition, what teams at the firm were involved and what trainees would get involved in? I’m unsure of my answers scope...
I normally look out for anything they say on the actual page of the application section, law firms might be really clear they want to know about your skills as well as duties and others just duties.
I haven't done the Reed Smith VI but I remember their grad rec team doing an webinar on this for TCLA and they said to try not to shoehorn your answers in questions. Which I found extremely helpful as I used to try to memorise a bunch of answers for VIs, it needs to come across as natural as...
From what I have seen in this thread and previous ones is that NRF doesn't fully rely on the report when they are assessing candidates. I remember this was written somewhere that this report is what the grad rec team might use to guide which questions to ask candidates in the interview...
I brought the JobTestPrep last year and it was okay but I still found that I preformed badly on tests, so what I did instead is I made applications to firms with WG which I wasn't interested in to get practice, and I started to see the same type of questions pop up. I found this works better...
I tried to pick the faces apart which sounds weird, but I tried to look at differences of eyebrows, corner of mouths, and if there were more lines on a face I just assumed they were frowning with a negative expression?
I did the HL AC last year, it was pretty well spaced, there's an ice breaker at the start and everyone introduces themselves in the group and you get to hear from trainees at the firm and ask questions, which is good because you can ask about the culture and values to help prepare you for the...
It is quite long it took me a whole day to do so I would recommend setting aside plenty of time for it and taking a break in between. Other than that you cant really prepare for it, the tasks are quite random, it's very game-based. There is a lock at the end which I did not complete. There is...
Hey I take the Elizabeth line often into London and I would say it’s pretty unreliable and there have been a lot of occasions where the service has just stopped out of nowhere and I’ve been put off my daily commute by an hour or longer.
Hi for anyone that has done a VI the one with 5 questions, is it mostly competency questions or motivational questions? Do they ask commercial awareness questions?
I am applying for a in-house role and there are three supporting questions but there is also space to add a cover letter, I was wondering if I should prepare a cover letter too? The supporting questions are asking for my interest in the company and what skills I have that are relevant. If I do...
I would say I’ve seen these nepo connections irl, at a scheme a student was bragging about her uncle who was the head of tax at another big city law firm and how she had scored work experience with him through an technical loophole of some sorts. I would say don’t take it too seriously, it’s...
