I am convinced graduate recruiters have a name generator/spinning wheel thing and the first 100-200 names it produces are the people that get AC; everyone else is auto rejected. It defo seems like they enie mine mine mo this sh*t. Oh well it is what it is. 🥲🥲
To my knowledge the latter 3 (Fried Frank, Paul Hastings and White & Case) are all non-rolling, and their deadlines are between May-July, so I think they would only start getting back to everyone that applied from June/July onwards. 🙂
Their website says they look for a 2:1 or 1st at undergraduate level and a majority of A grades at A-level, which I’m guessing means AAB. I think they use rare recruitment though and do take into consideration MC, so idk how strict that requirement is. 🤷🏾♂️
I’m working on my application for...
Their deadline is the 28th and whilst they review on a rolling basis, you can technically send your application on deadline day and they would still review it (they don’t make any offers before the deadline). It’s 4 days till deadline day, so technically you could do 600 words per day (i.e., 1...
I saw someone on the forum mention they had received an AC invite recently and that Hogan Lovells confirmed to them that they were running AC’s until around mid March time. 🙂
Whoever decided that VI’s were a good thing to add to the graduate recruit process needs to seriously go outside and touch some f****ng grass imo. Worst idea to have ever been thought of smh. 🤦🏽♂️😂
I have seen a few people on this forum who applied to RPC and were progressed through their stages quite quickly and now have VS offers. Not sure if that was for Spring or Summer though idrk how RPC works, just going based off what I’ve seen on here. 🥲
To my knowledge, Ashurst extended their deadline to the end of Feb (the latest they will get back to people), but that date is essentially the day they send out all of their PFO’s. It was like this for the WVS.
Travers Smith have started their interviews but so far I think only 4-5 people have...
Linklaters are definitely doing a madness because why have I just received a PFO from them for the VS when I didn’t even apply for it at all wtf lmao. 😂😂
I’ve seen around 4-5 invites on the forum so far and someone said they send interview invites out until early/mid March. I imagine after that we can assume it’s a PFO. 🥲
Hoping Travers Smith will get back to us this week or next with either a partner interview invite or a PFO. At this point my reaction will be the same because the waiting is long asf. 🥲
I think BCLP, Macfarlanes and White & Case have a DTC route open until May-July. If you applied for the VS and were unsuccessful after application stage, then you can apply for the DTC in the same cycle. White & Case only recruit 20% of their trainees from DTC (10/50 per year), so I imagine it’s...
I think Freshfields got rid of their summer DTC because they introduced the WVS (for finalists and graduates). I also think you can only send one application per cycle to Freshfields, so if you applied for the winter DTC, you would need to wait for the next cycle. The WVS (Dec 2025) is for next...
I think it’s firm dependant. If a firm has a large trainee intake and recruits a lot of trainees from the DTC route (50% or above) then go for it. Typically, this would be the Magic Circle firms. If a firm has a small trainee intake and recruits only a few trainees per year from the DTC route...
I knew getting a TC at a city law firm was competitive but damn I didn’t realise it was like this lmao. 7,000 is actually insane!! How does a firm even begin cutting down from 7,000? How did they manage to go from 7,000 to 30, that’s also insane!! 😮😖
In the FAQ section of their graduate recruitment website, it says you can re-apply if unsuccessful but only once per cycle. If you do re-apply there needs to be an improvement in your application...
I have managed to get past application stage for a few firms even though I am certain I had some typos and spag errors (White & Case, Willkie, BCLP and Paul, Weiss). I missed the , for Paul, Weiss at least 3x in my application and I have an interview soon. I’m lowkey worried they might ask about...
I am sorry to hear you are feeling this way. Just know that you aren’t alone in feeling like this. This whole process is so stressful and demotivating. To try and find the will power and energy to write more applications is incredibly difficult. I am genuinely amazed by the resilience some...
