Haha I’m so glad you said that because that’s like a 3 week wait roughly and I’ve been waiting around that long to hear back post-app. Have you heard anything post-VI? I know it’s so long… all of mine are just waiting now and I don’t think I’m going to hear anything for a while 👎🏼
I applied close to the deadline and haven’t heard anything - I think someone mentioned they contacted them and they said due to volume of applicants they will get back to everyone by end of Feb. I know people who applied November/early December who have done VI and since had PFOs, so assuming...
What are the other questions on the app?
If there's already 'why the firm' and it's phrased as personal statement and not cover letter I feel like it gives q good scope to speak about ur motivations for law and what you bring to the table. It's always difficult when there's cover letter type...
I think someone on here said they contacted them and they said due to volume of applicants they're hoping to get back to everyone by end of Feb? Not 100% sure but think I read that on here somewhere - I feel the same tho 🤝

Is this for Lewis Silkin? I was thinking the same! I went with one from around a year ago because it was most applicable to the q but not sure if that’s too far back
Honestly I feel the same. I've been waiting for ages to hear about VI now. Bit disappointed as I made it onto open day this cycle which they said was super competitive this year and hoped that would boost my application with firm engagement. I guess open days are ofc never a guarantee but...
In my experience my personal tutor from uni has always been really helpful with references and I graduated two years ago!! So fingers crossed for you :))
Does it specify it has to be academic/professional? If not I’ve used references before from professionals I’ve networked with but if they’ve specified I’m not sure that’s helpful! Is there a personal tutor or favourite lecturer you could contact?
I second this - during and after my law conversion I was struggling to get legal work experience and I think it takes a lot of persistence + initiative. Even for paralegal roles I applied for over 80+ through things like LinkedIn, indeed, etc and either never heard back or was flat out rejected...
