What I don't understand is that some people on here received PFOs a week or so ago (haven't heard of any offers but they may have come through). How can there be such a large gap of time where nowhere hears anything? They've clearly reviewed some applications. Frustrating.
Is anyone sure they send PFOs?
In their email, it says "you will be informed whether you are invited to the video interview stage on or before Friday 8th December 2023." From that, I'm interpreting it as they only let you know if you've been successful and don't issue PFOs (unless anyone's...
Yeah, I've heard nothing either and am frantically refreshing. Presume that with everyone else hearing though, it's not good news and that PFO is coming haha
I just completed the online test and did anyone else find it weird? Like I found it harder than the standard Watson Glaser and many of the questions were number heavy. The "fairly strong/weak" part threw me off as well. Can't say I'm particularly confident now :( How did everyone else find it?
I'm not 100% sure (and I haven't had a response from them so far) but it does sound like it. I know some people have received test invites, so they've been sent out. Have to say, not even alerting people if they've been unsuccessful when they know the effort/time people put into single...
The deadline doesn’t close for over a month still; I don’t think there’s any harm in applying, regardless of ACs being sent out. They’d be missing out on a lot of potentially good candidates if they didn’t consider anyone sending an application in now.
At what point would you consider applying to a rolling deadline wasted effort?
If I apply the day of or the day before the deadline, is it so unlikely to be considered that it’s better to focus the effort on other firms given the time/effort needed to be put into one application?
Has anyone else completed the online assessment yet? I have until Friday to complete it and wondered if anyone had any tips/practice links (other than the short one already provided?) Thank you!
PFO from Slaughter and May :(
It's weird - I find I put far more time and effort into their application, which I didn't get through, while others which I've done relatively quickly I have. Is it just a case of it being a TC application, which is more competitive than a VS, or simply because...
S&M’s application is a little different to others in the sense that it’s a CV and cover letter. If you’ve already got a CV in decent shape and feel you can write a 500ish cover letter (which certainly seems doable before the deadline), I’d say go for it.
Obviously it’s better to apply earlier...
How long did it take most people to hear back from Slaughter and May after applying?
I sent my application off on 3 November and still haven’t heard anything. Slightly worried I left it too late with the rolling deadline, but also feel as applications still haven’t closed yet, that shouldn’t be...
Sorry to hear that, I’m still yet to hear so not sure if that’s good or bad news.
I’d agree though, 30 minutes does make it feel overly pressured. In terms of strategy, other than practice, practice, practice like you said, I guess just doing those practice tests to a time limit. For example...
It says they're reviewing your application, so why would you think it means you've failed the test?!
It just sounds like an automated email to me and not something to read into :)
How long did it take most people to hear back from Clifford Chance after completing the WG?
I'll be honest, I found it much harder than most of the practice tests I did
Thanks for the advice and for getting through the first stage! How long did it take you to hear back after sending off your application if you don't mind me asking?
