Hi @Ram Sabaratnam,
In relation to the final point, what would you say about a hypothetical situation where the firm may have made its initial judgement that advising a client would not impose harm to their professional branding and reputation, but it actually later turned out that it most...
White & Case post-VI/TI PFO. 🥲
For reference, I think I applied on the 5th of Jan, received VI invite around the 28th of Jan, and sat the VI around the 31st of Jan. I had applied for both Spring and Summer VS.
Thank you for your kind words, I really appreciate it. 🙂
PEP = Profit Per Equity Partner.
I actually first came across PEP on Legal Cheek (the firm’s most list), way back in July/August when I was beginning to think about which firms I wanted to possibly apply to in this application cycle. On...
Just adding to this that you won’t be at a disadvantage if you don’t have straight A/A* at A-level or a 1st in your degree. I have neither of these and got invited to a Paul, Weiss interview on Friday. 🙂
Whilst I went to a RG, it wasn’t a university like Oxford/Cambridge/LSE/Imperial so that...
I think a good one would be the change in M&A activity from the start of last year compared to this year.
I saw a post on LinkedIn by Paul, Weiss which was a memo discussing this topic. I have linked it below:
It has a lot of tables, charts and graphs but I think it is a current commercial...
Fair enough perhaps the word new isn’t the best to use, although I did put relatively as it isn’t literally brand new in London. Neel Sachdev has emphasised how they are building something from scratch in London. 🙂
To be fair though, I did refer to Paul, Weiss as “relatively new in London” in...
Since late 2023 - early 2024 they have been rapidly expanding and now they have over 200 lawyers, 40-50 of which are partners. I think it’s relatively new in London because it opened its London office in 2003 but has only really began focusing on growing its London presence since 2023. Some US...
This is actually incredible! I was thinking about how I could structure and articulate an answer to questions like ‘who are Paul, Weiss’ competitors and how does Paul, Weiss compare to them’ or ‘what are Paul, Weiss’ USPs when compared to its competitors’ and then I see this post, which...
I’m not entirely sure tbh. I didn’t do any practice tests (not the smartest decision I’ve made this cycle) but instead I watched some YouTube videos on the amberjack assessment. They helped to break down the nature of the test. There were a few videos I watched. I searched ‘amberjack test...
The test had four pillars for the SJT: grit, applied intellect, digital mindset and creative force. Each pillar was scored out of 9, so it was 36 in total. In my case, I got 24/36 across the four pillars (7566) which I’m guessing was high enough to get invited to the AC/interview stage. I...
I think one way someone could measure prestigious is from the PEP of the firm. I think Kirkland and Paul, Weiss have the highest PEP’s out of these firms. Davis Polk is smaller in terms of the number of lawyers it has whilst also having a high PEP. I would say it’s one of these three firms. Most...
I think they probably send out decisions in small batches e.g., one group receive AC invites and the next group receive a PFO. I saw on their website they get between 4,000 to 5,000 applications a year, so they must take a while to process all of them. Best of luck for Hogan Lovells! 🙂
I imagine it’s both because Paul said they assess applications and test scores together to decide who to invite to AC. I’m not too sure what their benchmarks are or what they look at to determine whether the applications and test scores are good enough. I don’t think my test scores were super...
Has anyone heard back from White & Case post VI for either Spring VS or Summer VS? I applied on the 5th of Jan, received VI invite on the 28th or 29th of Jan and completed it on the 30th or 31st of Jan. I haven’t heard anything since. 🥲
Thank you so much man I really appreciate it fr @jacksollaf. Likewise I have been following your application journey on the forum. I’m still amazed at how you’ve managed to submit so many applications for both VS and TC. Absolute machine fr! 🐐
Best of luck for your HFW VS and I hope you are...
I think Ropes & Gray will get back to us by the end of Feb as that’s what they did last year. On their website they say we can expect to hear back a month after the deadline. 🙂
For MoFo I have seen some people get interview invitations. Best of luck in all of your applications!
