I went to a Russell Group uni. However, in terms of my background:
1. I went to a comp state school and was eligible for free school meals between the ages of 5-16.
2. I think the average A-level grades of my sixth form college were roughly DDD around the time I did my A-levels.
3. I am from a...
I might be wrong here but there’s another account spamming ‘🤣’ under my posts and i think it’s the same person from last time lmao.
Is @Yourworstnightmareisback the same person as @BreadandButter?
Thank you so much I really appreciate it. Thank you for your kind words as well. 🙂
I genuinely wouldn’t have made it to this stage without the support from all you guys on the TCLA forum. 🙂
I also want to thank @Andrei Radu for his amazing advice and guidance on tackling one of the Paul, Weiss...
Yeah most likely I imagine they will ask about PE because that’s their main client base and focus in London. In my application I wrote about my interest in restructuring and antitrust as well. I’m not sure if I would become a debt finance lawyer but then again, never say never. I might even end...
Thank you man I really appreciate it! 🙂
I am super nervous though because this is my first proper interview. I’ve only done short VI/TI so far which have 3-4 questions (Willkie and White & Case). I have no idea what to expect for Paul, Weiss. 🥲
I think they are sending them out in a staggered approach similar to the SJT invites and PFO’s. I felt this way yesterday and I had convinced myself it was a PFO, only to check my emails today and see that it wasn’t. No news is always going to be good news! I wouldn’t assume a PFO just yet. Best...
Thank you! 🤩
I think I got the test invite on the 30th of Jan and completed it on the 2nd or 3rd of Feb. I sent my application one week before the final deadline so I think 12th or 13th of January.
I can’t believe what I’m seeing right now. I am in complete shock. 🥲
Paul, Weiss AC/interview invite. I’m so confused right now idk how this is happening. 😭
Hi Gemma, thank you for clarifying this. It has been something on my mind for some time, from when I attended the in-person open evening to now being at the post written exercise stage. I don’t have any personal connections in the legal industry and I come from a socially mobile background. As a...
From what I have seen, Travers smith seem to call everyone that has submitted a successful application to inform them that they have made it to the partner interview stage. I don’t think they hand them out in one go. 🙂
Based on last year’s forum, some people even received invites in early...
LinkedIn is the most common one for sure. I have had partners view my profile and then later on send me a request and I’m sat there like wtf should I do or say, this is normally supposed to be the other way around or something lmao. It actually scares me every time because I’ve no idea what...
I think Paul Hastings (‘PH’) recruit around 12 trainees a year. I don’t know for sure whether the summer placement scheme leads to a TC offer or whether they are two separate applications, although I imagine if someone did complete the placement scheme it would help them stand out in their DTC...
I have never seen a firm stipulate a candidate needing first class grades or even a first class overall degree average. The highest I have seen as a requirement is a high 2:1 (68%) average (Cleary Gottlieb). I think a few firms like Jones Day and Slaughter and May ask for a strong 2:1 (65%+)...
