I would always recommend wearing tights, even if they are a relatively low denier and sheer. There is something weird about bare legs that many firms get a bit sniffy about.
I don’t think you need to become good at make up. Even a light foundation/powder, a few flicks of mascara, and a nude lip...
Double check the terms of your offer letter, but I wouldn’t expect there to be any where you are not employed until you start with the firm (and therefore it’s more difficult for them for them to restrict your employment before then).
I personally don’t think it would have that much of an impact for me (and I hate commuting), but everyone is different. I might just make the most of the commute - use it to read things, update a journal of my work etc.
It depends really whether you think you’ll get a seat on the train though...
I know people who have commuted in from outside of London zones and from as far as Cambridge/Brighton. It won’t be for everyone, but unless I was staying with someone for free or money was no object, I’d prefer to save the money and put up with the commute for a few weeks (and I hate commuting!!).
Please see this post I wrote a week or so ago:

Time is of the essence - if the error hadn’t have happened, you might not have ever known they weren’t sent individually.
The irony is if they did it manually there is probably even more risk of them getting it wrong!
That is what TCLA is all about - its not just me, but our wider community. I just sometimes have the knowledge on these technicalities!
Good luck and hope it goes well.
Yes, they will refund this if it is within the limit/amount set that they said they will reimburse. You may find they even will cover any costs of your overnight stay in London if that's within their set budget too (they used to anyway in instances where they knew it would be difficult for...
Ideally, you will need to find someone who knew you before the incident and have kept in contact since the incident.
It doesn't have to be someone connected to law, it just has to be someone in a respected profession, especially one where ethics/integrity are vital (e.g doctor, accountant...
Someone we have felt has posted a lot of useful content in recent weeks is @summer207, so we are very happy to provide them with the prize instead.
@summer207 - thank you for your posts in recent months - you have been a great contributor to the TCLA community. You have been a strong contender...
Yes, apologies @Adrian_S - I completely forgot to pick this up and allocate this to someone. If you don't have someone who you want to nominate, @AvniD and I can pick another winner. Please let us know what you would like to do and we'll get it all sorted ASAP!
As you have admitted guilt to the offence, this is something you will need to disclose to the SRA.
Therefore, I would recommend applying for the suitability test now and at least start this process, if only to help you know an outcome on this earlier and to get it off of your mind as soon as...
Not a problem at all to send a brief thank you - just keep it to the point, lots of people tend to write these things like they are War and Peace - if it is any more than a few sentences (unless you have questions you want to ask) it will be too long!
Not a problem too if you don't send an...
Phew! You have a lot on your plate. Hope all the assessments, both AC and academic go well for you. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help with your preparations.
