and how you can demonstrate confidence, clarity, and genuine motivation throughout an assessment centre.
I suspect it’s more like 65/70% from vac schemes. It was back in my day, although that was a long time ago, but hiring numbers are still similar to what they were back then for both VS and TC.
The more interactive elements are likely to be on Teams while I suspect you will just be going through a modular simulation on Forage.
From other posts, it seems that Forage is used to assess an assignment and for information to be shared on, but that the interactions with people will be...
I wasn't aware that was something Forage did. Sounds odd to use that when you could just use the firm's teleconference software like Zoom or Teams. To me that suggests it is more of a simulation rather than working in a team of solicitors.
Forage isn't really a vacation scheme as it is open to everyone (you don't need to apply or go through a recruitment process). It is just a virtual work experience simulation that can be completed at any time by anyone.
Vacation schemes (especially winter schemes now) are likely to run on...
If you have extenuating circumstances, these will be taken into account with your first-year grades, especially if they are clearly a blip in an otherwise strong academic profile. You will need to claim the mitigating circumstances though, and ideally need your university to verify that they...
I don’t think there is really anything like this, unless it’s the GDL/LPC/SQE. Some paralegal roles may require specific knowledge related to that practice area, but I really can’t think of any certificates/courses outside of the legal training that have been required for general paralegal roles.
It really depends on the context. Can you provide more detail as to how this fits into an application (eg CV, online application form, what other information you are providing)?
As it says a “career in law” it doesn’t need to be specific to a trainee nor the firm, but I would try to apply it to a career as a commercial solicitor.
Saying something like “can I take a moment to think about that” and then taking a few seconds to structure your thoughts (no more than 12 seconds though) can be done, but I wouldn’t do this for every question, so use it tactically.
You don’t have to answer absolutely immediately after the...
The firm will contact you when they need references and then they will need references from both your academic tutor and your employer. So just wait for them to contact you about the reference process. It’s likely it won’t happen until 4-6 months before your TC start date rather than LPC.
Definitely only applies to the firm you have applied to due to data protection. You’d have to sign something saying who else the data could be shared with, but I can’t think of any instance where this happens. The test provider also makes far too much money making you do the test multiple times...
It won’t be a game over. If that was the case, they would limit applications to people who attended their events.
Most people reference work experience or events in an application anyway, so this is probably just a way of ensuring you detail it in this question rather than wasting word count...
Hi @futuretraineesolicitor - my recommendation is always to follow/read something consistently and regularly, but when you find particularly stories that are of interest to you via this source, you then read around the topic and find other sources that might explain/describe it from a different...
