Yes I’ve tried to do what @Selma95 has said. 100 or so words on why lawyer and then I’ve picked out a couple nrf sector practice strengths which interest me and then said why in 92 words.
I’d say it depends on what stage you’re at and how much you have to put on.
Two pages is accepted everywhere and I’ve never ever heard it’s not. So two is fine unless the firm (not careers adviser!) itself sets out any requirements.
The only caveat I’d put is that there’s no point having a...
I don’t really think it’s a question you can make interesting or be different with. Unless you’ve had an interesting gap year or job or extra circular. Your CV/profile is what it is and you can’t fake it. Everyone’s gone through a similar background with uni, etc.
What I will say though is I...
I’m rethinking/having second thoughts over my comments on this earlier.
What are others doing??
If you apply for a VS, can you later transfer to the TC app process??
No. Another couple of firms which close 31 January. They clearly say they’re not rolling. Should I submit asap after I’m done drafting the application or wait nearly the deadline towards December or Jan.
For non rolling I see limited value in submitting early?

Being honest is probably the best way to go with this I think. And just talking a bit about about why you enjoyed your uni. If you try to defend your choice, there’s a danger you may come across passive...
I’ve often thought about this. And in particular trying to balance applications for rolling firms against those that say they’ll read/respond after the deadline.
Ive found some firms who’re non rolling seem to have an easier application. So a bit confused if I should just submit those even...
I’ve come across a few weird questions. Thought I’d put them out there to get views:
1. What motivates you.
2. How would you add value during a vacation scheme to the office.
3. If you could go back in time for a historical event, what would it be and why.
4. What rewards do you expect.
Do people have any advice or insight?
Just a blank box to write about yourself - positions of responsibility, employment/work experience, achievements, interests, personal qualities
Think the advice is total rubbish - and that’s putting it politely!!! (Except for perhaps slaugthers). Who is the advice from?
For example, I think I’m right in saying Macfarlanes don’t even have any A-level grade requirements or if they do they’re really low.
Grades are important. Which...
