Where did you see this? I have just checked the portal and can’t see where it will tell you it has been archived?
As always, I wouldn’t infer anything until you’ve been told explicitly that you’re out of the running. You will run yourself into the ground with worry.
Hi @Andrei Radu and @Abbie Whitlock, it would be good to get your thoughts on whether it’s worth applying for the VS at Sullivan & Cromwell or waiting until DTC applications open in May 2026. I’m a career changer currently working in a legal-adjacent field for one of the big banks. Work...
They say that they will let you know within 5 days. I passed the WG and found out within 3 minutes. They tend to let you know quite quickly if you’ve passed it, but don’t count yourself out until they say so.
Yes, you can go back and review your answers on the CC WG test. You're also given quite a lot of time to complete it. It's not actually 40 questions because about 10 of them are example questions. Good luck!
So sorry to hear this, Jess! WG tends to go wrong if you second guess yourself because that’s your practical reasoning kicking in, and the test doesn’t reward that.
You’re attitude of “on to the next” is very emotionally grounded and mature, and you will eventually find the TC/firm that’s...
Fair play! I still couldn’t put in 75 applications even with the use of AI, so I tip my imaginary hat to you.
I also completely agree with you about the use of AI. AI is a very powerful, time-saving tool if you know how to prompt it properly.
So sorry to hear this! WG is an annoying test, but it can be mastered. Use AI to your advantage. I failed my first mock woefully, but used ChatGPT to explain what the test is actually asking and how to find the right answer.
It's about the same difficulty as the practice test. I just got ChatGPT to drill me on each section and make the questions harder than the actual test. GPT can also explain the technique and reasoning behind each section (which is where most people mess up). I would recommend reading each...
I think the deadline is 23:59 on Sunday 23 November. But might be worth dropping the grad recruitment team a line to double check - you don’t want your application to be withdrawn for not completing it in time!
Passed the Clifford Chance WG! I finished it at 19:58 and received the email now. It's good to know my application won't go straight into the junk folder. Going to celebrate this (very small) win with a chinese takeaway and try to forget about the whole application.
I didn’t know you could change applications! I submitted mine and didn’t realise the last sentence of my motivation response had been cut. I’ve quickly gone and edited it. They don’t review the applications under after you’ve passed the WG test anyway. So if you can edit it now go ahead and do it.
I don’t think the purpose of these tests (Cappfinity, Watson Glaser, etc) is to find the best candidates (regardless of what the marketing says). I think they’re purely meant to knock as many candidates out as possible to reduce the number of applications needing human review. Law firms can’t...
They say they’ll let you know within 5 working days. I don’t think CC have a set pass mark, either. Your percentile depends on how well other people do.
Of course!
I input the following:
“I am studying for the Watson Glaser test as part of my application to [insert law firm]. Please give me practice questions on each of the five sections of the test and make them difficult. Give me one question at a time, but do not tell me the answer until...
