Question for Jessica or any of the forum helpers here - If I have not previously done a vacation scheme, is it still worthwhile sending out some direct TC applications, as right now my circumstances make attending vacation schemes quite difficult?
I feel like these are quite difficult to prepare for but also relatively straightforward. Try to contribute a few substantive points, do not be overbearing, include other people. You can also volunteer to keep time or refer the group back to remaining time if it doesn't look like you are on track.
lol I always worry about this too and just go clean shaven. But I think the reality is it doesn't matter, I see plenty of trainees/associates with beards. Just keep it groomed.
I've got a mid 2:1 and interviewed at a range of SC/MC/US Firms. Even JD which I believe says they look for a "high 2:1".
If you're interested its worth applying, I nearly didn't apply to JD because of those concerns, yet I got an interview.
I wrote about my legal work experience in there and they progressed me to AC. I think its just a really flexible question where you sell yourself/your motivations with whatever you want.
I had a meeting with HL recruiter last year, and they directly said that after about the middle of October competition increases and the "any additional information you would like to tell us" essentially goes from optional to mandatory to distinguish between applicants. Just smth to bear in mind.
Definitely do not email them, they might not even notice the mistake.
In my cover letter I once typed "Slaughter & May" as opposed to Slaughter and May, and they still progressed me. Be more careful in future but you still have a chance.
