Maybe it isn’t a PFO after all. Dechert WE invite at last lmfao. This is for the Spring VS. I applied early Dec so over 6 weeks ago. I’m surprised cos I don’t meet their A-level requirements.
I’m not sure tbh. Usually a firm will state if they’re after consistent 2:1 or high 2:1. Like HSFK and Linklaters say 2:1 for every module. :(
Diff firms seem to have diff interpretations but I think the general consensus is a ‘good’ or ‘strong’ 2:1 is 65-66 and a ‘high’ 2:1 is 67-69.
Someone I know secured a TC with Morgan Lewis with ABB at A-level. They went to a non-RG uni. I think Greenberg’s requirement is ABB so you meet it. Either way go for it if you can write a strong app to both firms! I also have similar A-levels.
It shouldn’t matter too much for most firms with the exception of maybe Slaughters, Cleary, Davis Polk and SullCrom who want high 2:1s.
I have a few 2:2 modules but mostly strong 2:1 and 1st’s and have gotten past app stage with Akin, Willkie, Skadden, Weil and Gibson Dunn.
I went to a...
Has anybody heard from any of these firms lately cos they’ve been somewhat quiet:
Freshfields post stage 2 (Direct TC)
Skadden post written exercise
Dechert Spring post app (applied 2 Dec)
Weil AC invite!! I’m still in shock so had to take a few hours to process getting the email haha.
For those interested, I applied in early Nov and got the online test around the end of Nov.
I sat the SJT and VI around mid Dec (14-17) and scored 7566 high numerical and verbal.
Can someone explain why AllHires asks us to put our work experience in chronological order (most recent first), but Vantage asks for it to be done in reverse order (oldest first)???!! This shii has never made sense to me smh. I cba lmao.
