Tier 2 Work Visa Sponsorships - Which firms? Insight from international students?

Hi! I was on a Tier 4 Student Visa and just secured the Skilled Worker visa in England with Eversheds. In my experience, almost all firms who have international offices sponsor visas. The only firms I have come across which sometimes don't are national firms. However, I suggest emailing graduate...

    BPP LPC help. 3Days?

Hello! I completed the full-time LPC LLM at BPP this past year so I can attach a study schedule. It's a rough schedule to ensure you are on track. From my experience, for the first term with the core modules (BLP, property, litigation) each SGS is 2 hours long. I had classes 3 days a week with...

    Thoughts about the BPP controversy?

Hi, I'm so sorry this happened! I know there is a formal complaints procedure on the VLE which you can look into, although I'm not sure how effective that would be. In the past when I have wanted to escalate things, I would bring up my concerns firstly with the Programme Leader. They may able to...

    No vacation schemes secured

Hello! Firstly, you are very courageous for opening up on this forum and honestly it was a great place to do so because this community is so supportive and welcoming. I'm so sorry you are feeling this way and I can assure you that you are not alone. Plenty of us have gone through this...

Real Talk about Eversheds Sutherland's 2023 VS App

I was asked 1-2 commercial questions at the very end of the interview but it's mostly strengths based! The commercial questions were not technical or difficult in my opinion.

Real Talk about Eversheds Sutherland's 2023 VS App

If you applied in the past and were unsuccessful, then you can re-apply again! The firm doesn't look at your past applications at all. However, you can only apply once every cycle. So if you've already applied for VS 2023, then you are going to have to wait until 2024!

Real Talk about Eversheds Sutherland's 2023 VS App

I agree with what Jessica and Alice have said above. I interpreted the word "energising" to mean "motivating". For q1 and q2 I would discuss what energised you when you discuss what actions you took using the STAR approach. For q3, I would pick 2-3 personal strengths you would draw upon and...

I completed high school in Canada, so I just looked up what the "equivalent" to GSCE was. For me, it was Grade 11 (age 16-17). And then the equivalency for A-levels would be Grade 12 (age 17-18) which was the last year of high school for me. If there is a box which says additional information...

    General Discussion Thread 2020-21

Hi Lydia! I would not recommend putting bullet points because I did in my first cycle and did not get past the application stage at all. I'm not sure if it differs depending on the firm, but the work experience section is the best way to let Grad Recruitment know of your experiences and they...

    General Discussion Thread 2020-21

Hello! I completely agree with what @Adam Gilchrist said above. In regards to my experience, my virtual VS was cut from 2 weeks to 1 week where I basically worked the full 9-5pm. After every "work day" there were events planned for the candidates such as a Partner's Networking Event on Zoom...

I would also agree with @LegalNim and would say to go for a vacation scheme. A lot of firms mostly recruit from their VS, so the odds are more in your favour. Also, don't forget that recruitment goes both ways! As much as the firm likes you, you also have to feel the same about them! VS allows...

    Pinsent Masons Application 2019/20

Lawcareers.net said the applications would open in September 2020. So you can check their website to see if the application is open now!

    General Discussion Thread 2020-21

Hi! I applied to their vac scheme last year. It's a written application consisting of 4-5 questions I believe, then a psychometric test, and then the AC which includes a written exercise and interview. If you want more information about a firm and you can't find it on their website, I would...

My friend told me that Simmons & Simmons does not have a direct TC route - so they ONLY recruit from the VS. You may want to double check that on their website!

    LPC full-time & working part-time / LPC part time & full-time work?

Hello! I am currently enrolled in the full-time LPC at BPP (over 3 days) and am not working, so I can only give you a bit of my advice! For the full-time programme, it is advised to treat it like a full time job. That is, doing school work for 40-45 hours a week depending on how much material...

    General Discussion Thread 2020-21

I've gotten the following feedback post vac scheme AC's: - Did not score high enough on the psychometric testing - Should structure answers better and answer the question directly (I think this was just a firm specific preference, as they wanted me to demonstrate resilience or what I learned...

    Thoughts about the BPP controversy?

I can PM you @JohanGRK if you'd like! I also haven't gotten my books yet @Mia97 and I'm doing the LPC. My partner is doing his studies at UOL - he doesn't even begin until next week but has already received all his materials.
