Anyone applying for Herbert Smith Freehills here or has applied to them for their vacation scheme I want to know about their question 3 which is

What skills, qualities and attributes would you bring to the role?

Well - look at the competencies they want (eg. teamwork) and ask yourself if you've displayed that!

What do you mean by AC as is it not an interview then vacation scheme offer is made if you pass the interview correct me if I am wrong

Most people use the term AC/interview interchangeably fyi

Got a Mayer Brown invite for their SJT and Verbal Reasoning. Um, is this is automatic or?

This is what they said :

I also received one around that time. Seems to me like it is automatic?

Not sure why you are being downvoted, we all start somewhere! AC is just another word for an assessment centre; some firms will have one instead of simply an interview.

For the Jones Day cover letter do people usually put dear.. and then yours sincerely at the end? It says we do not need to address it to a person or include addresses but does this mean there is no dear graduate recruitment manager?

I'm not sure – although I only got an invite last Friday afternoon, whereas a few others got invites last Monday, so they're definitely sending them in batches. Hope that sheds some light!
