Application question: on current issue in the mainstream media and how it will impact the firm

Application question: Please identify an issue currently in the mainstream media and explain how this is likely to impact the clients that the firm represents and/ or the type of work that the firm undertakes.

The firm:
- International law firm headquartered in London with offices in 14 countries
- Sectors such as aviation, heavy industry and engineering, transport and logistics, energy and insurance

Can I talk about a current issue which only really directly affects the UK market (so Uk based clients) or would it be better, because the firm is an international law firm, to focus on an international issue?

Given the type of firm you mention, particularly with their sector focus, they’re likely to be international not just london focused. Is there any data available on this? If I was drafting the question, I would focus on how the issue affects their sectors (I.e picking a couple of client types and work steams). International/London impact I think would be a by product and secondary point.

@Victoria g @AJ 4 two major Japanese companies have crapped their plans for building/funding nuclear plants in the UK and this will probably force the UK to fill the voids with renewables -> more work for the firm (the firm is quite well known for their energy sector)
do you think that's alright?
Yes!! I can already see an international element to this question- so you haven't just discussed something within the UK. Perhaps there will be more foreign investment in the future!
