Ok had a chance to cool down and give myself a break I am now focusing on SQE 2, full steam ahead.

I've been on LinkedIn and seen that everyone and their mothers have been putting out 'how I passed the SQE' stuff so I don't think I'm going to do that unless people ask. I'm happy to share my experiences with people if they would like and can probably give a more realistic view since I didn't spend 100 hours a week studying or do 10,000 MCQs but at the same time, there are much better resources out there I feel, especially since I spent the last two months convinced that I had failed.

I continue my next step with BPP. Wish me luck!!

In another episode of things I will do in order to avoid studying, here is a chart I made of the SQE results. So actually it is pretty consistent, this is not meant to scare people or anything but hopefully it shows that the 44% pass rate from July was an anomaly.

Update: The past week has been a little hard for personal reasons, but I just completed my seat reservation form. Now I just need to pray that it works out for me. I really need to get back to studying, but I have zero motivation at the moment. I wish I were a machine that could ignore everything around me and just work.

The Jan SQE 2 Results have just been released, so it is once again time for... Things I will Do to Avoid Studying.

Interesting things I have noted in the stat report (Legal Cheek should really hire me to do this)
    • Unlike SQE 1, where usually anything under Q3 would be a fail, in SQE 2, you can end up in Q4 and still pass.
    • People with no QWE have a higher pass rate than those with: 81% to 75%. They also have a higher mean score: 341, compared to 329.
    • Qualified lawyers and non-qualified people have the same pass rate: 77%, but those who aren't qualified lawyers have a higher mean score: 335, compared to 319
    • People who spoke English as their first language have a much higher pass rate: 81% to 64%
I have highlighted the areas people appear to struggle with:

I have also included the pass rates:

    Mean Pass Rates:
    • October – 72%
    • July – 76%
    • April – 78%
    • Jan – 74%

Your advice on SQE 1 would be so appreciated :) And a massive congrats for passing!

Thank you so much for the update. I’m really sorry to hear that the week was tough. I hope things ease up for you soon. Life has a way of throwing challenges at us just when we need clarity the most, but the fact that you still managed to complete your seat reservation form says a lot about your resilience. That in itself is a win, even if it doesn’t feel like it right now.

I also completely understand that feeling of wanting to switch off emotions and just power through like a machine. But you're human, and it's okay to need a moment. Motivation will return, especially when you’re kind to yourself and allow space to feel things. In the meantime, even slow progress is still progress.

Also, I just want to say that your posts are really wonderful. They always carry such depth and honesty. Sending good thoughts your way, and hoping everything works out exactly as you need it to.

    You’ve got this…!
