Hey! When did you hear back from them, about the AC? I did a VI on the 30th of June- haven't heard anything, yet. Should I mentally register it as PFO and move on, 😂 or?
I'd say hang on, cause i submitted just before deadline and obviously haven't received VI yet since its rolling basis. maybe theyre just slow and are processing all of us lazy applicants for VI before sending out the AC invite in bulk rather than batches. also do you have any tips for VI, dont blame you if you wanna gatekeep

I had a very strange experience- I submitted the application, and I got a VI invite in 45 mins- most likely auto triggered

Just wanted to interject with my own experience. I got a low 2:1 too, with a non-insignificant number of 2:2 module results (on balance more 2:1 results however). I've managed to get to the AC stage with several MC and American firms, including getting a vac scheme with an American firm that I've heard is more strict on grades (I'm not sure how true it is that they are though).

I will say that my extracurriculars/experience is pretty strong and I did study a law degree at Oxbridge. I also had mitigating circumstances, HOWEVER, I didn't declare these for a couple of firms (just because I only started to declare them mid-cycle at someone else's advice) and still got interviews at these top firms. The point I'm getting at is that for many firms (I imagine there are a few firms that will scrutinise the finer details of your 2:1 so not 100% of them), for the most part the 2:1 is the grade at the top of the paper, and whilst there may be some further scrutiny you meet the requirements so it won't be disqualifying.

Can't comment anything re: the international visa stuff, sorry.
stop giving me hope lol. i got a foreign llb with 2:1 too and im absolutely cooked. howd you ever manage all those tc/ interviews? tips please

Dude hahah, It was my first vi, but here is how I prepared (pretty sure I bombed my wfw vi, congress crossed tho)

    1) its super unnatural to talk while facing the camera, so practice practice practice
    2) look up questions that the firm usually asks
    3) stay a bit calm, you have 15-30 seconds to prepare- so take your time, read the questions
    4) practice behavioural questions

I hope this helps :)! I'm starting to think I might’ve gotten rejected post vi- but we’ll see 🤣

Hi all. Has anyone heard back from Macfarlanes DTC after completing the online assessment? I completed mine on 4 July and haven't heard anything since + I can't see a timeline on their website...
same boat. i got a feedback for the online test though, and it said something like my strengths were responsibility, adaptability and explaining, but weakness was building credibility. idk it was a load of something and cant quite make out if its good or not. good luck with yours, keep us in the loop if you receive AC

Hi everyone! Does W&C prefer bullet points or prose for their work experience section? I appreciate any info mentioned during recruitment events or law fair by their grad rec xx
Id recommend writing in prose to be on the safe side. Most firms grad recs I've heard from prefer it and don't want bullet points. Only a few seem to not mind. :)
