how did the baker sjt go for people? i just got my score back and they are BAD so don't know if it passes the benchmark or not

mixed, 'excelled' in verbal reasoning, but i've yet to see anyone not get that so.

then I did well in two sections, and less well in two (got a 3/9 bars in one). so i'm unsure. if it's a cumulative thing, I might be okay, but I'm guessing they have a minimum for each section maybe? if that's the case i may be cooked.

little disappointed as I really like the firm, but it's not over until it's over, (or until next year when i will try again lol)

For the 'Work History' section of the Paul Weiss application, does anyone know if we can respond in bullet-point format (like on a CV), or do they expect full written descriptions? In general, what do law firms usually prefer? Is there a way to know the preferences of each firm?

During the open day, Paul said that he preferred a prose type format.

Depends on the firm. Some firms have told me bullet points and others have told me prose. But for example, I did prose for Skadden even though someone said they prefer prose and still got to WE, so I think if you're strong you're ok either way.

Doesn't matter. As long as it's clear what you did and where. I prefer bullet points personally because I feel it gives people who are reading hundreds of applications a chance to skim easily. I've had huge success this cycle and mine are mixed in the same app- work in bullet point volunteer work in prose.

Yeah mine has been similar. I guess it depends on each kind of experience.

If for example you have attended a dozen open days, it might be better to amalgamate them into one entry, in which case it is appropriate to use bullet points.

Similarly, if you have completed a dozen Forage virtual internships then bullet points is better. It’s a lot easier for the person reading the application to just skim over this.

However, if for example you worked a part/full time job say at McDonald’s, it’s probably better to write in full prose by outlining 1) what you did and what your role was and 2) the transferable skills that you have gained.

For Paul, Weiss specifically, at the Dec open day it was mentioned full prose is preferable but it’s not an issue to use bullet points it just needs to be appropriate (see above). ​

i got 3 in one, 4 in two and 6 in one so im pretty sure i am cooked. i did the first year scheme with the firm so im kinda sad

hi, a bit random but I have a place for a firm's first year open day tomorrow... but I'm not eligible (I'm a second year on a three year course). I messaged grad rec a few days ago and they outlined the eligibility information but didn't reply to my follow up email asking whether I still have a place considering I'm not technically eligible?
I've contacted grad recruitment again but I'm posting it here in case anyone has been in a similar situation.
