Haha, thanks. It's not my own thing, it's actually a medieval concept - mainly focused on the rule of Edward IV. I read about it in several books/articles centred on the Wars of the Roses and the idea just stuck with me It gives me hope, considering how low I've been at times

did the Mishcon VI and ended up stuttering loads. Do you think this will impact decisions - even if answers were good quality?

I can’t speak for Mischon, but my first ever VI of my life was for Willkie back in Dec (2nd stage). In my Willkie VI, I stuttered and stumbled on my words quite a lot. I was also caught off guard by one of the questions and I felt I was waffling my way through my answer.

Despite this, I got invited to the partner interview with Willkie yesterday (4th stage). I believe firms care more about the substance of your answers (i.e., structure, points, etc) than whether you stutter or stumble on your words (they know you’ll be nervous asf).

Adding onto this, in my very first cycle I did the VI with Gateley, stuttered my way through it, got cut off, said 'and commercial stuff', and then rounded it off with 'and because Russia and the Middle East are... kind of friends?' for a commercial question.

I still got the VS (though obviously not the TC).

Maybe competition was low that year, but still Shows a few mistakes aren't the end of the road!

Just want to say - 1.) you're honestly so cool - i love history facts + this is honestly one of the best ones 2.) the wheel of fortune thing has also stuck with me for the past few days + has really helped me put things into perspective

@Jessica Booker or anyone who can help: I passed my SQE2 exams today and am wondering whether I need to update the grad rec on this. I have some apps that I sent out before receiving my results. I also have a last stage VS interview with another firm next week. Is it worth emailing all the firms I have applied to so far?

For the firm you have an interview with next week, I would just update them at the interview.

If there are any firms that you have applied that that are recruiting for 2025 or 2026, I would update them with this information. However, if it is for 2027/28 training contracts I don’t think this is as relevant to them, and so I would only update them if you were invited to an interview stage with them.

Just did the WBD assessment - high in verbal and numerical intellect, 7/9 grit, 7,9 applied intellect, 6/9 creative force, 7/9 digital mindset. Does anybody know roughly how long it takes for them to get back to us after this stage?
