hi! I was wondering if there are any free resources where I can practice doing case studies? cant rly afford the tcla premium rn and would appreciate any guidance
hi, they're not really case studies but what i find really helps for ACs and is free is going on studocu and accessing previous SQE notes. especially as an undergrad who is unfamiliar with a lot of commercial legal jargon i find it quite helpful and i'm pretty sure it's the main reason i got a vac scheme last year. a lot of them are much more detailed than you need but they can be quite helpful e.g some spell out what specific things to look for during due diligence, the importance of warranties and indemnities and the benefits and drawbacks of debt and equity financing- all hot topics for a lot of ACs. it's free but you need to upload some of your own notes to access others.

Hi! Anyone who has heard from Linklaters so far - did you apply for the Spring or Summer scheme?

I applied for the Winter Vacation scheme and got rejected from it, but graduate recruitment emailed me at the time and asked if I wanted to transfer my application to the Spring / Summer scheme as they thought my application was strong.

Just wondering if there is still any hope for the Summer Scheme (as I've seen most PFOs have been for Spring), or whether a PFO is inevitable 😢 It has been so long since I applied that I've forgotten the contents of my application lol
literally in the exact position 😅 I'm assuming pfo since I saw someone say Links' last set of ACs are running next week :(
Heya, I'm also still waiting for a reply from Links. I think the person who mentioned that the last set of ACs didn't mention whether they were referring to summer or spring. From my understanding, some of the PFOs sent out this week were definitely for spring - i'm not sure whether many have been sent for summer yet... Whilst i can't guarantee that there will be more invites, I think that it might not necessarily be the end of the road :)
All the best for the week ahead 🍀

Hi! I have a TC offer with a firm and I have signed the contract. But I have also just received a vac scheme offer from another firm. Can I still do the vac scheme with that firm? It's not prohibited in the contract but should I disclose this to the firms on both sides? Will this be frowned upon?
Yes 100%. I'd still do it even it was prohibited. I am assuming you would prefer a TC offer with the VS firm.

Hi - that's reassuring that there could be some hope left! 🤞 I'll choose to remain optimistic...

Hopefully, we will find out soon enough either way - all the best to you too!
