Does anyone have advice for what I can do?
I have accepted a VS but I also have another AC at a different firm. If I Get the other VS they will clash.

Is it possible that I either ask to do only 2 weeks (for the second firm) or ask to move to their Winter scheme?

I don't want to move my other one (the one I have) to spring because of exams.
Alternatively, I could request to move my confirmed VS to early June but I run the risk of clashing with exams. I also don't want to give the firm any reason to think they aren't my top choice so I don't harm my chances of converting to TC.

Is this a good approach or is there something else I can/should do?

'Future Trainee Solicitor'
'Future nothing'
(delete as appropriate)

I had both of these typed in my phone.

I was waiting to hear back from a law firm after a bumpy Vac Scheme.

It was sort of obvious it hadn't gone well.

But 'future nothing' if you don't get one of a handful of jobs at a law firm?

Well, yes, that's how it seemed at the time.

Not now of course, but back in January 2021, as had been the case for the preceding three years, I hitched my sense of self-worth to a two letter acronym - TC, or Training Contract, if you prefer.

Now those letters have quite a different meaning:

Take control
Tutoring career
Take care
Tailor-made career

Etc etc.

It's easier to 'make it' in life without a Training Contract than you might thin

Given you don’t actually have two vacation schemes yet, this is probably a bridge to cross when (if) you come to it. I’d just focus on doing well in the AC
Best of luck!
