Got my first VS yesterday after thinking I bombed 1 of the 3 tasks in the AC
I completely misremembered the details of a deal, confusing it for another. Mentioned how I found the international elements really interesting when only 1 office handled it. 100% sure partner caught me out on it; he frowned but didn't say anything. Somehow still got an offer.
As sad as this sounds, for several months my application spreadsheet was my most exciting thing to tell people about so defo not just you 😂
Which office did u apply to for Michelmores? I applied but haven’t heard back
Bristol office hbu? I submitted on deadline day - can't seem to find anything online about their timeline
I applied to the Bristol office as well! Gotta just wait & see now I guess.
I emailed about this, I applied to the Manchester office for context, and they said it will be sent out in batches over the next 10 days
Echoing this, I need to do it, but I cannot find the energy 🪫
I have heard back for DTC so maybe they are processing that first?
I think they review all applications after the deadline

I’ve got an interview coming up with Winston & Strawn and was hoping to get your view on how best to approach it given the merger with Taylor Wessing.
For my “why this firm” answer, I was planning to talk about Winston’s smaller, specialised London team and the exposure and responsibility that comes with that. With the merger though, I’m conscious that the firm’s structure and positioning are likely to change.
Do you think it’s still appropriate to reference the benefits of the smaller team environment, or would it be better to focus more on the opportunities created by being part of a larger, integrated platform? Do you have any other ideas for how to approach the merger in other aspects of the interview as well?
