TCLA Vacation Scheme Applications Discussion Thread 2025-26

Am looking to apply for Orrick and have a few questions about their criteria.

On Legal Cheek it states 56% of trainees are from Oxbridge and 44% from RG. I am just debating whether I should make an application or not. I have got a 2.1 from a non RG university with 2.2 in a few modules and got 2.2 in first year. I have passed application for firms like DLA, Bakers and Reed Smith. Have also passed application stage for other similar firms to Reed Smith and Bakers. Am just in mixed thoughts about whether I should apply or not considering they have a long application. Any advice or insights will be great.

Hello everyone!

So I’m fortunate enough to have received at vac scheme offer, however that week I have an exam also, don’t know the exact date as of yet, meaning I’m gonna miss one day for the vac scheme. Im really scared that if I do reach to the firm and tell them my circumstances they will rescind my offer (they did say I have the right to miss half a day), but the lady on the phone was really keen about knowing what my exam period is and if I can attend all days.

Any advice? Thanks
Heyy im in the same situation.. can i pm you?
