Anyone heard back from STB for Autumn vac scheme? I applied one day before the deadline but nothing yet.

Hey guys, I need advice.

I have a million different firms I to apply for, but I don't know if I should do winter or summer.

Honestly, I just want to get one! I hope once I get it I will do a good job and get TC. I know people spread out the applications to maximise how many schemes they can do in the year, but I'm choosing to maximise actually getting one in the first place.

What is easier? Does anyone know whether Winter or Summer (or Spring?) is more competitive?

For reference I'm a fourth year student with a predicted first.

Also, do Open Days actually boost your application or is more for you to learn abt the firm?
