Travel Costs

I've got an open day in the next few weeks and was wondering how I get the firm to reimburse me. Do I contact them before the open day or after? Silly question I know, but I didn't want to give a bad impression by emailing them.

I would contact them ASAP as sometimes these things take a while/few people to sort out. Just ask whether there is any travel/financial assistance available for the scheme, if so it would be hugely appreciated as you are travelling from far.
