Typo in application

hi all! I hope you're well :) I've just realised I made a typo in my Farrer & Co application - I wrote 'F-20 statement' instead of '20-F statement' in both my work history and written questions (wrote it twice). Does anyone have an idea of how strict Farrer & Co usually is with errors like this? I'm debating whether to email in but I also don't want to draw any potentially unnecessary attention to it! Also - does anyone know what they interview process is like - is it 'application blind' or do partners have your application on hand? I'd appreciate any insight - thank you so much !! <3

Hi!

I am doing well, thank you - I hope you are too!!

I would try not to panic too much about this (easier said than done, I know!) - it is clear what you meant, and "20-F" statement vs "F-20 statement" isn't the kind of mistake that is going to undermine your application or suggest a lack of understanding, particularly if the rest of your application is strong. Firms are generally looking at the substance of your experiences and answers rather than catching out minor technical slips like this, especially when it is consistent and understandable. The typos that are more likely to warrant a rejection are things such as spelling the firm name wrong, or having your application littered with typos.

Personally, I wouldn't email about it as this can sometimes draw more attention to something that they may not even have clocked in the first place.

On the interview process - I'm actually not 100% sure! I believe that when I completed the final TC interview last year it was a semi-blind process and the interviewers didn't have information on our school, university, or the grades achieved. However, there may have been other aspects of the application that they had, though I'm not too sure!

Overall, I really don't think the typo is something that will make or break your application, so try not to worry about it too much! Wishing you the best of luck! :)
