I am answering this question 'Identify a current commercial issue which is relevant to RPC. Please explain why you consider it to be significant to the stakeholders involved. (300 words max)'. However, I had a significant current issue in mind but please could someone help me with an example. For some reason, even after answering this multiple times it has thrown me off.

I've chosen the topic of AI and intellectual property rights (authorship and ownership in the context of AI-generated works, the application of copyright laws to these creations, and the challenges in patenting AI-invented products.)

Ah, thank you! I've accidentally put on 2 or 3 apps that I need one Are Grad Rec typically quick to respond if I email them about the mistake and would it adversely impact my chances of proceeding with the application?

I wouldn’t say quick to respond via email - they get a lot of emails. I wouldn’t worry about it too much, in most cases you can work out if someone wouldn’t need a visa (eg if they are studying at a U.K. university)

I think so. I already received a WG test invitation as a second stage, while their deadline is 15th January.

I should have started the application sooner; it took me a while to answer those questions. Do you think they review the application before sending the WG? I thought the test was automatic

I'm practicing written assessments for another firm, what did the freshfields assessment entail? Are they just case studies or more on the proof-reading line?

There is a proof-reading exercise that you do in your own time. Then at the in-person AC, you have a motivational/SJT/competency interview with a partner and associate. you also have a case study interview with a partner and an associate!

No the test is not automatic. The email said
“We enjoyed your application and would like to invite you to the next stage of our recruitment process…”

I think only those who applied for spring got AC invites. I applied for summer but haven't got anything besides an email thanking me for my patience and said that they would get back to me by the end of the month

Both examples I have given are closely related to one another.

I would try and give the best example of the two given they are asking you to explain one. You could frame it in a way that identifies both briefly but then only detail one. eg:

During X and Y I demonstrated my drive. Specifically for Y, I was motivated by A, which led to……

I think their deadline last year was on 02/01 or 03/01 and they invited all successful applicants to the Open Day on 03/02 so it might be a bit early to get a response now

Has anyone heard from Freshfields for AC stage for Summers?? I did WG two weeks ago and haven't heard. My friend who applied same timeframe got a PFO apparently. Does that mean I still have a chance??

Maybe. I don't know - I need to ask him. I'm non-law, so maybe that's why I'm on a different timescale? My other law friend has got an AC invite and he applied a few days before the deadline like me. Hopefully, I'm in consideration for a later batch of ACs...

I think most of the firms do not separate law or non-law，the only firm i know is Slaughter （they run separate scheme for non-law
