Shearman & Sterling only closed applications last night and I believe they don’t assess on a rolling basis (I may be wrong) so we will probably hear in the coming weeks.

Hi guys, with the macfarlanes question (“why macfarlanes and what are your career ambitions”) is it wise to take the following approach?:

Explain why macfarlanes and then

1. State my career ambition e.g. to lead relationships with clients
2. Then Explain how Macfarlanes suits the above career ambition

I thought this because I wanted to link it back to the firm, but can this be viewed as not answering the question?

@Holly No, I think your structure is good, and appears to answer the question. Just ensure that you answer both parts: 1) why Macfarlanes, and 2) what your career ambitions are. Then you can choose to link the two at the end, depending on your preference
