That's great thank you!! Did they send your report after?

I completed the test earlier today and haven't received a report, and in the last cycle they definitely didn't send one. I received an email a week after I completed the judgement test saying:

"Thank you for recently completing our application form and online judgement test. I am delighted to confirm that you have been successful at this stage of the assessment process. Congratulations! We will now progress your application to the next stage of our assessment process, which is our online ability tests and video interview. You will have 7 calendar days from tomorrow to complete both the ability tests and video interview."

This is a bit of a weird question but does anyone have any motivational tips on how to write apps when in full time employment. I’ve just started my new job and I feel exhausted when I come back home and definitely not in the mood to write and research apps. Guess I’m looking for some consolation about apps and working!!

you aren’t the only person who feels like that.

Does anyone know if law firms would switch video interviews for telephone interviews if you have a disability? I have FSHD which makes the muscles around and inside my mouth very weak and I speak very slowly. When I try to speak fast enough for a video interview, my speech sounds very slurred so I’ve never passed a video interview. I’m not usually someone who discloses my disability but I definitely want to apply to certain law firms with video interviews this year. Any advice? Thanks!!!

most would - you need to ask for the reasonable adjustments as soon as you are offered the video interview

Just got a rejection from HSF :( ngl this actually really hurt because I spent ages on the application and had three different people read it over

try not to get to disheartened - if it helps, the exact thing happened to me last cycle. I applied to one firm i'd previously done an internship with and really loved and got great feedback from, but they rejected me right off the bat despite me spending ages on my app and being really confident about it. But I ended up getting a VS (couldnt go because it got cancelled from corona sadly) from their direct competitor firm who i'd never given a second thought about at all and maybe spent about 20 minutes on their application! Sometimes you can spend ages on one firm's and they just decide they don't like you at all, but you're the perfect fit for another, so dont feel too hurt by it because you never know who's going to turn round and make you an offer!!

I'm so sorry to hear that. Stick at it! Believe me when I say I know how you feel. Was this on the app or on the online assessment? I think you can reapply for their spring vacation scheme if you were applying for their winter one now but that might have changed.

I think it was on the application stage because I was told I had passed the assessment. I'm not sure if it was to do with my application per se tbh because I had a few people read it and they said it was good. I think it might have been my uni grades, I do have a lot more 2.2s than the average applicant tbh

That's so true! I feel like when I make an application I get such tunnel vision on that firm, in terms of them being the be-all and end all of law lol! I need to stop doing that basically to keep my options open
