Based on my conversation with them they claim that they let everyone know their decision as soon as they have watched the video interview. It is unsettling that no one else has had to wait long, but if they tell me that I’m not out of the running (having applied on November 4th for Winter top...
Lol I’ve emailed them like three times and no answer, so I called them and they said they just haven’t watched my video interview yet and will get back to me as soon as they do, but I’m so confused because they seem to have got back to everyone else within days of them completing theirs??
It differs by firm though doesn’t it? A partner at Shearman told me that they give the title ‘Of Counsel’ mainly to retired senior partners who want to keep working for the firm on an advisory basis
I was given mine on a Wednesday and it was due on a Friday. I think they have certain dates by which they want to review each batch so we probably were up against that.
Also someone said the questions are randomised from a large question bank so everyone gets different questions - I didn’t get...

So do you think that everyone who gets a vac scheme gets a TC? Or are there separate vac schemes for the different intake years? Or is it 15 people in spring and 15 in summer lol
I submitted the Arnold & Porter app a few hours ago - finally my last vac scheme app of the cycle I think! I have got the sense that it is non-rolling but can anyone confirm or deny this?
Agreed, but I also think this exemplifies why it is necessary to apply to as many firms as one can without sacrificing quality. There is unlikely to be a generic rule at all and it will never be possible to predict what any individual firm's approach is in this regard, but with enough...
It was sort of an example they gave, along with possibly mentioning some of the work of one of their practice areas you’re interested in or something else etc
I hope everyone who gets rejected from firms they think they have put in a great application for can understand that this process is so arbitrary! It is really just a numbers game!
In a feedback call with a firm’s grad rec team (rhymes with Meed Mith) yesterday post-research questions (not sure...
