I don't like carrying much really. Hands get very clammy very quickly. Backpacks can make your back sweaty. I don't think you need anything. They wouldn't assume you're bringing things. Most of it is provided there. Even water they'll usually give you. Just make sure your phone's charged. So you...
Try to rewrite them more effectively. Showing how you’ve changed is important. Apply any feedback they gave you. Add it in to your narrative. I’m trying this approach for W&C. Like you I have progressed before.
Quick question for you, please, @ReedSmithBecca. Apologies if this was already answered. How many TCs are available directly? Do most go to VS students? Thank you very much in advance.
For TCs yes that’s been happening. Ideal approach is open day first. However, that isn’t always an option. Scatter gun approach worked last year. Honestly wish it was like UCAS. If only five applications was enough.
I've fixed this more recently, yes.
Not motivated for VS apps, honestly. So probably didn't check those much.
The TC apps had more checking. All apps went through Grammarly, IIRC.
All application cycles snd my results.
2017-18: Cleary VS AC, Slaughters WE
2018-19: Debevoise VS, Milbank VS offer
2019-20: Jones Day VS AC
2020-21: Travers Smith VS
2023-24: W&C AC, Latham AC, Ropes VS
2024-25: Morgan Lewis TI (and that’s it)
More focus on TCs this time. Still, 40 apps...
Typically they are M&A exercises, IIRC. I'd suggest Chris Stoakes' 'Commercial Awareness'. That book helped me no end. Lots of guidance on YouTube too. Idin's channel is very helpful here. Getting their interview is very impressive.
Nothing yet and yes it is. They only opened two weeks ago. Most apps will go in later. Interested to see how many though. Since it’s their first direct TC. I’m hoping for less competition honestly!
Ok here is my 10 pence here. They may have first mover advantage. First of its kind deals etc. That benefits you for several reasons. More time to gain new expertise. They might not expand in India. But there's a history of innovation. That's what I'd tie it to.
For WG, this is pretty helpful: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Critical-Thinking-Tests-Understanding-Testing/dp/1911259377.
How 2 Become Critical Thinking book. Helped me pass two Watson Glasers. Clifford Chance and Hogan Lovells’ WGs.
