How to prepare for Slaughter and May Interview?

You may find it helpful to spend time reading opinion pieces on topics rather than just informative articles. The FT's opinion section is a good example.

    Hearing Back from Firms + AC & Interview Tips Share - 2018 - 2019

Unfortunately, we don't have too much info on the NRF interview. As Alice said, I'd just keep in mind the general advice for written exercises: Read the client’s or lawyer’s instructions very carefully. The task/intro will often flag up points they want you to emphasise in your answer. A good...

    The GDPR and cybersecurity

Please use this thread to post any links/thoughts on these topics. To kick us off: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-46944696 Google has been hit with a €50 million GDPR fine by the French data regulator. This was due to a "lack of transparency, inadequate information and lack of valid...

    Hearing Back from Firms + AC & Interview Tips Share - 2018 - 2019

Personally, I'd leave it as I don't think this was a mistake. You do sometimes hear stories about mistakes like this, but it's very rare! That said, if you think it'll bother you - there's no harm in confirming.

    Hearing Back from Firms + AC & Interview Tips Share - 2018 - 2019

Excellent news, well done! Great firm. I doubt this was a mistake; I presume they were just reviewing apps the next day and thought yours was very strong!

Which law firms recruit on a rolling basis? 2018-2019

If you really like the firm and you think your application profile is strong then yes. Just note Chambers says 70-80% have done a scheme at W&C, so it'll be tough to get through.

    Tech issue Re Mayer Brown

Looks like their security certificate has expired. You should be able to still access the site by clicking advanced > proceed to unsafe version. You may want to flag this up to HR as they may not be aware this has happened.

Case study - Limited partnership or private fund limited partnership?

I agree with you entirely, I can't see why you'd choose an LP over a PFLP if you were setting up a new fund. I can only see it being a slight burden if you were changing over from an LP, but that is not the case here. One thing I'd flag up is your reference to the whitelist - I don't believe...

    US Government Shutdown

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said in a statement: "Unfortunately, initial reports make clear that his proposal is a compilation of several previously rejected initiatives, each of which is unacceptable and in total, do not represent a good faith effort to restore certainty to people's lives."

    US Government Shutdown

For those in on a Saturday night, Trump is about to make a "major announcement" on on “the humanitarian crisis on our southern border” and the partial government shutdown. For context, this is the longest government shutdown in US history. You can watch it here: https://www.whitehouse.gov/live/

    Work Experience Dates Wrong

Yeah, I'd email them. It's not a huge issue, but just in case they read it and assume you have more legal experience than you do.

    Reed Smith application

Unless they include a prize, I wouldn't mention those here. It's fine if you don't have five.
