Personally, I'd leave it as I don't think this was a mistake. You do sometimes hear stories about mistakes like this, but it's very rare! That said, if you think it'll bother you - there's no harm in confirming.

If you really like the firm and you think your application profile is strong then yes. Just note Chambers says 70-80% have done a scheme at W&C, so it'll be tough to get through.

Looks like their security certificate has expired. You should be able to still access the site by clicking advanced > proceed to unsafe version. You may want to flag this up to HR as they may not be aware this has happened.

Case study - Limited partnership or private fund limited partnership?

I agree with you entirely, I can't see why you'd choose an LP over a PFLP if you were setting up a new fund. I can only see it being a slight burden if you were changing over from an LP, but that is not the case here. One thing I'd flag up is your reference to the whitelist - I don't believe...
