There is usually some form of order - what that order could be could be based on a whole load of factors though. You could ask the firm where you are placed in the reservation list though.
It shouldn’t as your employment will finish before your TC starts.
You’ll probably have to disclose what you have worked on at your paralegal firm to make sure there are no conflicts with what you have worked on previously with what you could do at your TC firm.
But you wouldn’t have to...
I suspect it is to manage application numbers post SVS season - one downside of opening earlier in the summer is loads of people apply and then withdraw when they convert their VS or are successful in other direct TC processes.
I suspect it is one or both of the following then:
- they don’t think as an experienced paralegal you will benefit from attending a vacation scheme
- they know the conflicts checks given you are employed by another firm are too arduous
These are often they key two reasons why they would turn...
Have only seen BARBRI publish their rates in the past, and these have been above the average pass rate.
BPP and ULaw have been particularly quiet and kept using the “insufficient data” excuse.
I would email them and ask them to provide this, especially before signing up to any course with...
- General abilities to do tasks such as drafting and research
- Attitude - positive/enthusiastic/proactive
- "fit" - whether they have a cultural alignment to the firm whether in terms of character/personality or motivations
- Doing well in assessments/conversion interviews (in exactly the same...
Not necessarily - there can be many reasons why firms don't disclose salaries. Factors such as where they are based outside of the UK can influence this (e.g. if it's not normal to disclose salaries in a major jurisdiction, they may choose to do this globally). If they are publicly listed...
You can contact the direct TC applicant firms and see if they can make a decision on your application earlier.
Or you can see if your offer period (the number of days you have to accept the original TC offer) can be extended.
Or you can accept and then renege the original offer if required...
I have never heard of it happening at intern or graduate level. There is no sense in doing it - it’s too expensive, too time consuming and unlikely to bring any returns (eg What is the actual cost to the firm to replace you?).
Yes - I would be honest that you have accepted a TC.
Yes, you can cancel. There is nothing really stopping you from reneging on your offer, and the firm (or any employer) is unlikely to seek out compensation for breach of contract given how much effort vs how much value there would be in doing so.
You don't have to do this - plenty of people do (and it is not an issue if you choose to do this), but in all honesty it doesn't mean much to them at this stage..
This is complicated and not always consistent across assessments.
Ultimately try to answer as many questions as possible. I wouldn't randomly tick answers though if you ran out of time. It would be better to spend time trying to answer 1 question well rather than answer 4 questions randomly.
Just for complete transparency, I am helping Flex with their recruitment for their Trainee programme, so can explain how this works in reality.
Ultimately you choose which organisations you want to be put forward for though and Flex will explain how likely they are able to align you with your...
I would focus on "key" stakeholders - for some stories though this will be customers, so you are ok to include them if you feel this is the case.
By "key" I would focus on those most impacted by the commercial issue rather than everyone.
