It depends on the individual firm’s policy. Some firms will say you can’t reapply at all, others will say that you need to wait 6-12 months before reapplying. For many firms it will be deemed a new application cycle though, and so you could reapply.
You only did the exercise today and only emailed today - firms are not always going to be able to respond to things immediately.
I would wait until Thursday morning, and if you haven't heard from them then, give them a call to see if the exercise has been submitted ok and if there is anything...

This is fine and completely understood. I would try to attend where you can and just leave at an appropriate time. Many firms will allow you to expense a taxi back from the train station is it is particularly late.
I would check the instructions carefully - they are likely to explain the specifics of what you need.
Open days are not employment though, and so are unlikely to be required to be confirmed. It is usually just employment Vero asks for.
