I think this is just a slight quirk of their form. I would expect that the post-graduate qualifications would include anything you would include in the postgraduate education section (as they are one and the same). The only difference I can see, is that the first section is for those completed...
Yes - anyone can leave a job early; you just have to work your notice period.
It will be frowned upon by the people you are leaving behind in the team you are working with. Externally no one would know the reasons for you leaving unless you told them - they wouldn't even know the contract was...
I'd include the school prize anyway - I don't think you'll need proof of it.
It is fine to leave these questions blank though. Not everyone has these type of awards/prizes.
If this question is outside of the education section of an application form, I have also seen people include non-academic...
It's a great approach to take as your reader can easily determine what you have done and when.
Some people do choose other ways - for instance, categorising them into either fields of interests (Sport, Music, Volunteering) or skills developed (Leadership, Creativity, Client-facing) but if you...
Rather than requesting a call outright, I would take the following approaches:
Email and ask if there is any further information or resources they recommend reviewing ahead of the AC to help with your preparation. Grad Rec is probably too busy for a call (this time of year is choas!), but they...
I think you would need to really focus on the activities you did on your year abroad to sell this, rather than just the year abroad itself.
The Chess Society and Orchestra will be of interest to. Try to show your involvement and impact in these activities if you can, and try to align it to what...
The fact you have a TC is likely to help you secure a better salary.
But it does just vary - you could easily find a US firm offering over £35k (or possibly even over £40k). But recruiters are generally working across firms and if they are working for a large international firm who are only...
It depends on the firm - for some this will be quite high (they are more likely to offer £25-28k) but for some firms that pay higher trainee salaries, stating a baseline of around £30-34k is probably reasonable if you have no experience. Based on working a standard 35-40 hour week with no...
I think you can use it more as a personal statement style application where you don't need the formalities of an introduction/opener or a conclusion/sign off.
I am increasingly seeing law firms drop the cover letter formalities, and I think this is just another incident of a firm doing so.
I think any application can always be refined from previous years based on the things you have subsequently done, the things you have learned since and even by critically evaluating your written style. The general themes might be similar but how it is presented could always be updated and refined.
My response to the post is here: https://www.thecorporatelawacademy.com/forum/threads/tcla-vacation-scheme-applications-discussion-thread-2022-23.5995/post-121321
I wouldn’t email about it in all honesty - I don’t think it would help in anyway.
It’s hard to know whether it will impact your application or not. I have seen things like this ignored for strong applications.
Yes, you can include open days on a CV - I would create a section for them rather than including them in your work experience though. You can then include things like Forage/virtual internships, other major careers events/conferences in that section too.
