This is a very standard practice - so please don’t worry about this.

There is no requirement to resit the equivalent of a LLB degree to take the SQE - you only need a degree level qualification and there is no time limit to when that qualification was completed (it can even be a non-law course too).
However what you choose as a prep course is very much dependent...
I personally would if you think you have strength elsewhere in your application too (eg if you think your previous career might help you excel in certain evidence they are looking for).
I wouldn't put work experience in this section.
You don't need to have attended HL events specifically - it can be any careers events, seminars, webinars or talks, whether virtually or in person.

I would start applying to some open days and insight programmes and consider completing 1-2 virtual internships on places like Forage to help build out your interest in law and show evidence of your pursuit of a career.
You should apply to any schemes you are eligible for this year but be...
The vast majority of firms will consider mitigating circumstances, but will need to see a strong performance in academics where those circumstances did not happen.
I think any application can always be refined from previous years based on the things you have subsequently done, the things you have learned since and even by critically evaluating your written style. The general themes might be similar but how it is presented could always be updated and refined.
