Hey everyone,
We're currently preparing for the last workshop of TCLA's M&A bootcamp and we're tailoring this one to the litigation issues surrounding an M&A deal.
We have a fair idea of how litigation has come up in the past, but we'd find it really useful to know more about how it may have...
#4 The Legal Profession This Week - Restructuring Boom
By Violet O'Gorman
Law firms with large restructuring practices likely experienced a boom during the pandemic, because of tough trading conditions for companies - particularly for those reliant on in-person trading. A multitude of...
As Alice said, I wouldn't worry about STAR here. This is exactly the kind of question where I wouldn't stick too rigidly to a structure - the key to this answer is to talk about something that you personally find exciting/inspiring with passion. It's a great question to give an insight into your...
Agree with this - as the question is about you, you should be fine to bring up a personal example without the risk that it will be taken the wrong way. If anything, I think these tough personal stories are often the most compelling at building a rapport because you are being vulnerable with the...

Edit: I completely skipped the fact that you secured a training contract. This is such good news - a huge well done :)
I did this when I was applying - thought I could manage it, but I realised last minute that I couldn't.
It was poor form from me and the firm wasn't too happy about it, but as long as you aren't planning on re-applying, it's not going to come back to you. I would just try to tell them ASAP to...
Hey! Nothing wrong with asking, you might find these helpful:

A very interesting trend! I'd add that it's also a result of the people involved. Once some very popular and vocal investors got involved, it became trendy, and many others jumped in for fear of missing out on the chance to make a lot of money.
I think the interplay between the markets and...
Assuming this is a lawyer at the firm, there are three types of questions I used to have:
- A genuine question based on something that was said at interview (e.g. you asked my about X, what are your thoughts on this? Why did you move from X firm to Y?)
- A back up question based on something...
I struggle with feedback like this - if they wanted to know why candidates were applying to their firm or what skills they have, why not ask for this? I do think this is the exception rather than the rule here; most firms would want you to stick to the question.
