Last year I did 5 trash last minute applications and got past the application stage on 4 of them. I often look back at these applications and laugh at how bad they are.
This year I’ve done 6 applications, well researched, spending days/weeks on them and had people look over them, and I’ve been...
It shouldn’t solely be about the money. I know it’s why most people choose this career but you have to really love the work too. The hours are awful and your entire life becomes your job. If you hate the work itself then that will make it more unbearable. £100,000 + is a phenomenal salary, but...
Just out of interest, are you still attending the vac schemes you won through the competition? Cant imagine what I’d do, some great firms to potentially get another TC from but then probably cba haha
No, it’s a huge achievement and people are going to be happy about it.
However, I’ve always found it funny when every post makes a point to publicly thank a long list of people. If I got a VS/TC offer and wanted to thank GR or my friends I’d just email/message them personally to say thanks! I...
Just seems like a way to filter out “undesirable” applicants. University, and the years after, allows everyone, regardless of backgrounds, to engage in many extra-curricular activities and develop their skills.
In regards to CC, which first year is going to have a better application? The state...
.
Exact same thing happened to me. Took the test years apart and I had forgotten everything about it so it wasn’t like I changed my approach.
Literally the stupidest way of filtering out candidates. Felt like sending my PwC report to
Gowling after they rejected me to ask if my other...
It’s the personality report that matters not the score itself.
However I’ve taken the test twice and been given different personality reports so I think it’s a load of nonsense tbh
Cant imagine it’s much worse than the other top firms.
You have no life but you get rewarded with a salary that puts you near the top 1% of earners in the UK.
I believe your score is completely irrelevant, it exists simply to make it seem more game like. Think I read that on the test providers FAQ.
Your personality report is what matters. I have taken the test twice and apparently I am two completely different people.
Nah nothing yet. I know it’s a PFO so I can’t see why they didn’t just send out rejection emails on the same day they sent out VI invites. Guess it’s not a priority for them
Agreed! Not a fan of any psychometric assessments tbh.
For example the WG. Nobody, to the best of my knowledge, is inherently good at the WG test. You can’t just take it first time and smash it. You have to practice and learn exactly what each question means and the way to answer each section...
WG test invite for Bird & Bird.
Absolutely suck at these :/ Funnily enough the only time I’ve passed one is when I gave up half way through and randomly selected the remaining answers without reading the questions
