How to research a firm

Hello!

What is the best way to go about researching firms? I'm struggling to find a starting point because there is just so much information. I would really appreciate if anyone could let me know their researching methods?

Depending on the firm the legal 500 and chambers have firm profiles and notable clients/cases, there is also the law firm directory on this site and if you want to know more about a firm and have access to Westlaw you can do an advanced search on case law which involves a certain firm. Apart from that, the firm LinkedIn will also see if they have done any cases which they are proud of and their news feed on their website
