Hi there! I just have a query I was hoping to have some guidance on. I was fortunate enough to receive a TC in August however it was from a firm that was not my first choice (I wrote a post on this earlier in the discussion thread). I have therefore decided to try applying to other firms in the hope that I receive an offer from a firm that is a better fit in terms of practice area interests.

I have received an interview invite at a firm next week, and was wondering therefore what the recommended thing to do would be in terms of mentioning the TC offer? Is this something that I ought to tell the firm before the interview?

Any guidance on the above would be really appreciated.

Hey Sophie,

I don't think you need to mention this before the interview. But if it comes up in the interview, I'd definitely mention it.

It usually looks good, and you can explain your genuine reasons for why you continued to apply to law firms, including why the firm you are interviewing with is a better firm for you.
