Nah lol, I was aware of it but didnt really consider it as self funding isnt an option for me and a slight uncertainty over NQ positions.
Agree with the uncertainty of NQ positions since most firms still offer training contracts. So I’d assume such NQ roles would go to the ones that have undergone training as trainee solicitors but not sure. There doesn’t seem to be much information on it

Yeah, does seem to just push the competitivenesss of TC roles to now NQ roles, there will be lots of people with 'cobbled' together experiences passing as qualified, which is completely fair as the work is valid, but qualifying into a practice area you've trained in with the firm may well give you the advantage over the qualified paralegals when getting an NQ role.

even so, they should realistically have way more than just 2? Unless theres like 50+ people ok each AC?
I wouldn’t expect a firm to invite 100 candidates for one vacation scheme, that is probably only 20 or so people max. That is an exceptionally high ratio, especially for a vacation scheme.

When a firm asks you to "outline" something (eg. why you are interested in a particular commercial topic), is it ok to have the response in succinct bullet points instead of a paragraph?
No - I would write in full sentences/paragraphs for this type of question.
