Hey does anyone know whether Gibson Dunn recruits exclusively off their vacation schemes?

I asked them at an event and they said they open up direct TC appos because their vac scheme is unusually long (3 weeks) and they understand not everyone can afford to take that time out of work.

I applied to a firm for a VS and managed to get past the application round but pfo after VI. I am applying to the same firm for TC during the same cycle because the firm allows that. In this case, would I need to make changes to my application/cover letter? or is it ok for me to submit the same one?

When is it generally best to submit direct TC applications for firms whose deadlines are in July/August. Do places fill up early or if the ACs and next stages are all in the summer, would it be ok to submit closer to the deadline?

On Paynes Hicks Beach website it states that all applications will be reviewed once the deadline has passed.

Varies massively. Not sure what the outer range is but anecdotally 3-4 weeks doesn't seem uncommon
