Does anyone know how firms look at people who applied and got rejected in the previous year? Also, how does it depend on the stage you were rejected at?

Hi! Firms usually are completely receptive of returning applicants. This is particularly the case at the application stage. There are of course exceptions, with the main one coming to mind is Jones Day, that discourages returning applicants usually.

If someone was rejected in later stages, firms may be less inclined to progress an applicant because they (A) have an 'unfair' advantage knowing the process better because of previous years (B) believe they know 'enough' and reject at that stage.

In these cases, I would email Graduate Recruitment to be sure of their stance, it certainly would hurt to do so.

Yeah as Antoni mentioned, it’s worth looking or reaching out to the firms grad recruitment. I think majority of firms are fine with it. I know a lot of people who have had second ac’s at some firms and even 1 person who got the vac scheme after 3 ac’s at one firm!

I don't have any tips for the SJT other than learn the four values on the careers website. It's as nebulous as every other SJT.

For the WG it has some light numerical stuff in it so use a calc.

Once you finish it gives a completion screen but I didn't get a confirmation email immediately so don't worry if it takes half a day for that to arrive.

I'm just wondering for a cover letter (1 page) - what's the best font size and font type to use? I'm thinking of Times Roman, 10.5 - but don't know if it's too small?

I completed it yesterday and received a 'skills report' today. No word on a VI so either I messed up SJT or you have you have to wait a bit.
