Im not sure if it answers your question but Debevoise & Plimpton for example recruit their vac schemers through their open days

Have not heard about the DLA Discovery Day yet. But the deadline is on the 5th anyway, or that's what I tell myself to cope

Only successful applicants were contacted. I sent them an email to follow-up on my application and they said:

'Hello,

Thank you for applying to attend our Ask Akin In-Person Open Day.

We received a high volume of strong applications and, unfortunately, due to the limited number of places available, we are unable to offer you a place on this occasion.

We were impressed by your application and would like to offer you the opportunity to be considered for a place on our Ask Akin Virtual Open Day, which will take place on Thursday 29 October 2026 from 10.00 am to 3.00 pm.

The event will provide an opportunity to learn more about Akin, hear from our lawyers and trainees, and discover what makes the firm a great place to start your legal career.

If you would like to be considered for a place, please let us know by Tuesday 13 October and we will be in touch regarding the outcome in due course.
