Entries do not always have to use the full word limit, especially if they were relatively short term placements or the responsibilities were more focused on a limited number of areas. It may make sense to go into greater word count for roles you have done for long periods of time or that had a...
As you haven’t applied for training contracts, I would stick to your current job and start applying for TCs. I don’t see the value in effectively downgrading your experience just to work in a legal company.
The employer is likely to have a set of benchmarks beyond the basics of an application like academics. This may include a minimum "score" that applications are assessed against.
Any candidate who applies via the Disability Confident scheme who meets this benchmark will be assessed. The...
I would apply for open days when they are ahead of the firm's deadlines for either VS or TCs where you can, and particularly where you may not be eligible for the firm's vacation scheme. Where you can apply directly for VS, then go for it, but open days can be a great way to interact with the...
I agree with you - I think this is a mistake.
I am rubbish at these assessments, but even I think this is clearly wrong. It does not state that depression leads to personal problems, to me it just says in conjuction with the depression there is a personal battle. And as you have highlighed, the...
Always try to update and refine your application answers - you'll want to use more modern examples where you can or show more recent evidence of pursuing the career. I also don't think you can assume a successful application last year would be successful this year.

Pro-bono would count though as it is not a part of your degree and volunteer work will be different to working.
Hmmm... most people applying to them won't have a letter. I would either try and put in N/A if that is allowed or " - " if only one digit is allowed. If it still needs a letter then maybe put X.
An earlier post suggests the questions for Skadden have changed and that this is no longer asked. I haven’t seen the form to confirm this but just flagging just in case.
Apologies my PMs have been pretty busy of late. Let me sort this now. You will receive a PM back notifying you what happens when your account is deleted and then I will delete the account shortly afterwards.
Generally firms will advise you to apply in your third year, but if your placement is going to run throughout the summer (some placements can be a full 12 months rather than 9) you may want to ask firms whether they can consider you this summer instead.
I suspect they are looking for you to identify what it is about the other career that would attract you and find the similarities between that career and a legal career. It would help them understand what it is about a legal career is likely to be your motivators.
