I have lost count how many times people think they have failed a module and haven’t.
However if that is the case, there are no ramifications from the SRA’s perspective. If you are doing the SQE route, you don’t need the PGDL and if you are doing the LPC route, all you will need is the PGDL...
One of two things - you have accidently submitted it or if not, this is just an automated email to advise you that you haven’t completed your application (which you know if true). I wouldn’t worry about it unless it has been submitted, and if it has it seems like there is still the ability to...
It isn’t as binary as you having a better chance or not, but vacation schemes really give you a lot more time to show your abilities and motivations than a short interview/assessment centre
Accept and then renege if required. If you are not receiving any financial support from the firm, you are technically not tied to them until you start your TC.
You should explain the reason why the TC wasn’t possible and if you received feedback from the firm as to why you personally weren’t suited to a TC at that firm, either how the firm you are now applying to is different or how you have developed that skill/attribute since your internship.
You can do vacation schemes as someone who has done the LPC. If you have little/no legal work experience, my general advice is to go for the vacation schemes to build up that experience.
The first thing to do would be to write it into a format the firm can sign off. They can’t agree to signing anything off without you having a record of what you did.
You will then just need to request it being signed off. Technically the firm can’t refuse if it meets the SRA’s requirements.
As it says any link, I would include meaningful networking connections - eg do you think the firm’s representative would be able to remember you?
If you just met at an event, I don’t think this is substantial enough, but if you have been liaising with them quite a lot then you can.
You only need to explicitly link it to the firm in terms of what you write if the question asks you. But even if they don’t ask, the subject should have some link, you just don’t need to explain what the link is.
It wouldn’t be an issue to switch, especially given the circumstances. You would list on your application that your first 2 years were at the previous university anyway, and you can then explain that you needed to move to an online course due to your personal circumstances.
Are you able to switch and just complete your third year at these universities? Or have you spoken to your current university to see if they can switch you to more of an online learning environment given your circumstances?
There is typically a timer - it might be quite subtle though in some instances, more like a time bar (like you might get on an online video) rather than a countdown clock.
I would expect you to be able to do the PGDL anywhere as it is a standaised course.
For the SQE, many firms do not have bespoke courses or ask that you complete the prep course in London. It will only be those with bespoke SQE in-person courses that it may be a problem, and even then with firms...
Your A-levels (or other qualifications if it is an equivalent) will be fine.
Paralegal work as a non law grad will be more difficult though, so I am not surprised to hear this. You may want to look at non legal roles in law firms as a bit of a step into the sector or
