I’d go with the firm I had a stronger preference for. If I didn’t have a preference, I’d go with the longer scheme because I am going to get more from it and also it will look more impressive for other applications.
The questions are much more likely to direct you to what specifically you will be asked about with each type of evidence on your CV, so I don’t think you need to give browsers answers like this where you have to cover your responsibilities and what you enjoyed.
They are going to know you are doing another scheme. Graduate Recruitment know the dates of the other programmes and it will be super obvious what is going on….
It is likely that any reference checks will be done with the information you have already given, or the firm will contact you by or the necessary details when they need them.
If you have a condition that falls under a disability category, they will/should make reasonable adjustments to the recruitment process as needed/appropriate. Any similar adjustments can be made in the work place too.

My opinion (it may not be actual fact) is the more complicated the work you are doing, the more documents there will be and the longer those documents will be. I think that is the case for most practice areas though, and won't be unique to transactional areas.

Break it down to the 4-5 key points/most influential parts of the journey - you don't have to describe every step. You also don't have to describe what you did just why those 4-5 parts of your journey made you more determined to pursue the career.
