I doubt it was - if it was for an insight programme/vacation scheme, then it’s often the case that firms care far less about your motivations as this will be assessed more during the programme itself

You can have multiple offices within one jurisdiction/country though. Think about the following:
Are there new markets developing?
Is there a growth of one industry that is particularly in geographical hotspots?
Have there been regional political changes that might mean the firm...
If for a trainee role, salaries are set and are pretty public, so no need to bring this up.
If this is for paralegal roles or something similar, wait to have these conversations when you are given the offer.

An email will usually have a attachment that is a formal offer letter. There will be various terms and conditions attached to that offer.
At some point before you start, you’ll need to present your passport. This typically has to be seen in person - scans are not usually sufficient.

An exact date isn’t going to be as important for casual work, as long as an approximate date is reasonable.
It depends what the rationale is for them not being accurate. Sometimes they can be very pedantic about this - it really depends on your rationale though.
Rather than starting with the negative “I don’t quite understand” you could say, “sorry would you mind explaining the context of the question further so I can ensure I provide a clear answer” or something of that accord.
I’d say near fluency is needed in two languages - both written and verbal communication. I would consider whether you could read documents or follow what was said in meetings in both languages with ease as a good benchmark as to what they are looking for.
