In this interactive session, Maya Shah, Senior Early Careers Specialist at Ropes & Gray, will walk you through every stage of the firm's application process.
Willkie’s new graduate recruiter and two trainees will break down what the firm looks for at the interview stage, common pitfalls to avoid,
and how you can demonstrate confidence, clarity, and genuine motivation throughout an assessment centre.
Will depend on the firm and how much of a stickler they are for these types of details. I wouldn't see it as a one strike and your out type situation though.
These things happen. They are likely to check whether it’s just a reporting error and if they can see your test score first and if not, they are most likely to just reset it and ask you to take it again.
Contact them ASAP to see what they say.
It’s not that if you know the firm’s name, it’s more whether you are naming an individual by their name - eg Miss Jessica Booker. Then it’s “yours sincerely” if it is Dear Graduate Recruitment or Dear Sir/Madam, then it’s “yours faithfully”.
It sounds crazy, but treat yourself.
Whether it’s doing something you really enjoy (eg gym, watch a a film cook your favourite dinner) the night before or just treating yourself to something like a nice breakfast in the morning, making sure you relax and enjoy something I personally think can...
Then it’s unlikely they will be able to make a decision ahead of then unfortunately. You could still ask, but I think the likelihood is going to be the earliest they could offer you in April.
In some form, most likely immediately. It might not be all of the fees they pay up front but they are likely to be liable for all of them even if they haven’t paid them yet (eg payment might be in instalments, but those instalments will have to be paid no matter what).
I’d expect it to be more technical but still competency based. The technical elements might be more relevant if you have completed the LPC or have previous experience.

Technically could be either approach even within the same process. They could just outrightly reject anyone who hasn't met their basic standards as they go, and then reevaluate the remaining applications that are more borderline once they have read all the applications.
There are so many...
1) I'd provide the GPA and your 1-100 module grades. Firms will know what a GPA is, so there isn't a need to explain this, especially if you are also providing your individual 1-100 module grade scores.
2) Yes, that is an appropriate approach to take as long as your explanation for the grading...
There is no harm in asking whether they have a later date as your exams only end the day before the AC and you'd like more time to prepare. Be prepared for them to say no though!
Can you find other job descriptions for the same firm for similar jobs/roles?
Also consider the practice area you are aligned to and also the firm/company’s values, as these will give you you some indication of what questions/themes might come up in the interview.
You can ask for an extension and there is no issue in asking. However, the firm might not be able to provide an extension due to either fairness or their recruitment timeframes, and so be mindful you might still need to complete it within the next seven days.
Dig a level (or two deeper):
Why does the firm offer a guaranteed overseas secondment?
What is the benefit to you of a secondment?
Why is a mix of contentious and non-contentious work important to you?
What is it about the firm's global reach that is different to other firm's that also have a...
